How It Works

The same three rules everywhere

1. You supply the rate. No price is fetched from anywhere, so nothing here can quietly go stale — but it does mean you enter the figure your jeweller, bank or market quoted.
2. The arithmetic runs in your browser. Nothing you type is sent anywhere, there is no account, and results appear as you type rather than behind a button.
3. Every result is an estimate, and the method is written down. Each page shows its formula, a worked example and what it deliberately leaves out.

Gold tools — these work anywhere

Weight, purity and value are the same arithmetic in every country. None of these assumes a currency or a tax rule.

• ⚖️Weight Converter — Converts between grams, kilograms, tola, troy ounces, pennyweight and grains. Every unit is defined from the grain, so nothing is rounded before it is converted.
• 🔬Purity Converter — Converts karat, fineness and purity percentage, works out the pure gold in a piece, and names the hallmark stamp when you enter a recognised grade such as 916.

Gold tools that use Indian conventions

These two quote rates per 10 grams and apply Indian GST. The arithmetic still works elsewhere, but the tax line will not match a non-Indian invoice.

For Indian government employees

These depend on Indian service rules. Each figure that comes from a government order carries its source and the date it was last checked.

• 🎓NPS Pension Calculator — Estimates a government employee's retirement corpus and monthly pension from their service dates, balance, pay and DA, handling both superannuation and voluntary retirement.
• 📈8th CPC Pay — Applies a fitment factor you choose to your current basic pay, adds HRA by city class and estimates arrears. Nothing about the 8th CPC is official yet, so every figure is a scenario.
• 💰Pension Commutation — Works out the lump sum and the pension left when a central government pensioner commutes part of the pension, from the government's commutation table, and when the commuted part is restored.
