What GoldC's calculators are for, and what they aren't.

Reviewed 28 September 2026 ยท by GoldC Team

No live rates: you type the numbers

GoldC has no API and no live price feed. It does not fetch or supply any gold rate. You type the rate; GoldC only does the calculation.

Every rate, weight, purity, making charge, tax rate and price on GoldC is typed in by you, or is a clearly labelled example. GoldC is not connected to any price source, so it cannot tell you today's gold rate. Gold prices change through the day and differ by dealer and city; confirm the actual rate with your jeweller before you buy or sell.

Not financial, tax or legal advice

GoldC's calculators do arithmetic on the numbers you give them, nothing more. None of it is advice, and none of it tells you to buy, sell or hold gold, silver or anything else. It is not a pension plan, and it is not a substitute for advice from someone qualified to give it. If a decision matters, ask your jeweller, your bank, your department or a licensed professional.

Every result is an estimate

A result is a calculation on your inputs. It is not a quotation, invoice, bill, valuation certificate or tax document, and it will not match a jeweller's invoice exactly: making charges, wastage, stones, hallmarking charges and how GST is applied all differ from shop to shop.

The NPS and 8th CPC calculators are the same idea applied to pensions and pay: they project forward from dates, balances and a return or fitment factor you choose. They are not an official corpus, pension or salary figure, and will not match what your department or the NPS Trust eventually tells you. See the government employees section for what is confirmed and what is still a scenario.

What we've checked, and what we haven't

Every sourced figure and formula is checked against a primary source and reviewed on the cadence set out in the editorial policy. What we can't check is your specific situation: your jeweller's making charges, your department's rules, your own dates. Use these tools to understand the arithmetic, not as proof of an outcome.

PDFs and shared results

A PDF you download, a message you copy and a result you send through WhatsApp, Telegram or your phone's share menu are made in your browser and carry the same limits as this page. Each one says it is an estimate from figures typed in by the user, that GoldC has no live rates, and that it is not advice. If you pass one on, please pass on that wording with it. To whoever receives it, it is not a quotation or a valuation.

No connection with anyone else

GoldC is not a jeweller, lender, bank, broker, insurer, pension fund or adviser, and has no arrangement with any of them. Names of institutions, schemes and rules appear only to explain a calculation. They do not mean that anyone endorses GoldC or that GoldC endorses them.

Provided as is

GoldC is provided as is, with no promise that a figure is complete, current or right for your situation. To the extent permitted by law, GoldC Team accepts no liability for loss arising from use of, or reliance on, the site, its results, its PDFs or its shared messages. Nothing on this page takes away a right you have by law that cannot be excluded. The full terms are on the terms page.

Your data

Calculations run in your browser and what you type is not sent to GoldC. A few choices are remembered in your own browser only: the prices you enter on the gold-to-silver ratio page, the gold rate you type on the bill check and jewellery price pages, and your currency choice on the money calculators. If you press a share button, the message you chose goes to the app you picked. See the privacy policy.

Questions or corrections

Think a figure or a formula is wrong? Tell us. It will be checked against its source and corrected if it needs to be.
