What this calculator does
- Daily, weekly or monthly instalments, each invested at the start of its period
- Works both ways: the value of a regular instalment, or the instalment needed to reach a target
- Optional step-up: the instalment rises once a year by a percentage you choose
- Shows how many grams of gold the plan buys, from a price per gram you enter; no live price is fetched
- Shows the same plan at half your rate and at 0%, so the result reads as a scenario, not a forecast
- A year-by-year table of the instalment, the amount invested, the value and the grams
- Shows the gain as a share of the money invested, and says that it is not a yearly return
- Seven currencies, picked up from your browser and changeable; the yearly return is always your own assumption
- Runs in the browser; what you type is not sent to or stored on a server
How to read the result
The total gain percentage compares the projected gain with all the money you put in. It is not a yearly return, because each monthly payment stays invested for a different length of time.
The projection uses the yearly return you type in and assumes it stays the same in every period. Real gold prices move up and down, so it is a scenario, not a forecast. Past gold returns do not tell you what will happen next.
How the gold SIP calculator works
A gold SIP (systematic investment plan) puts a fixed amount into gold every month, week or day, whether through a gold savings plan, digital gold or a gold fund. The calculator assumes each instalment goes in at the start of its period and grows at a steady yearly rate that you enter. All amounts below are in whichever currency you choose.
- Rate per period = yearly return รท periods in a year (12 monthly, 52 weekly, 365 daily)
- Each period: value = (value + instalment) ร (1 + rate per period)
- Total invested = the sum of every instalment
- Gain = projected value โ total invested
Monthly gold investment calculator: a worked example
5,000 a month at 8% a year for 10 years puts in 600,000 and projects to 920,828, a gain of 320,828 (53.5% of the money invested, not a yearly return).
Daily gold SIP
Many digital gold plans take a small amount every day. Choose "Daily" and the calculator uses 365 instalments a year. 100 a day at 8% a year for 5 years puts in 182,500 and projects to 224,414.
Step-up gold SIP
A step-up raises the instalment once a year. 5,000 a month rising 10% a year, at 8% for 10 years, reaches 11,790 a month in the last year, puts in 956,245 and projects to 1,378,959, against 920,828 without the step-up.
How many grams of gold will a SIP buy?
Enter today's price per gram and the calculator counts the grams each instalment buys, assuming the price rises at the same yearly rate as the projection. At 7,000 a gram, 5,000 a month for 10 years buys 59.265 g if gold rises 8% a year, and 85.714 g if the price stays flat: when gold rises, each later instalment buys less of it.
How much to invest each month to reach a target
Choose "I have a target" and the calculator works backwards. To reach 1,000,000 in 10 years at 8% a year takes about 5,430 a month. A step-up lowers the first instalment, because later ones are larger.
What to keep in mind
Gold prices move up and down, so a steady yearly return is an assumption, not a forecast; the result also shows the same plan at half your rate and at 0%. The projection leaves out platform fees, the gap between buying and selling prices, making charges, GST or other taxes, storage, and tax on gains.

Quick answers
Is the return of a gold SIP fixed?
No. The yearly return is an assumption that you enter, so the eventual value can be higher or lower than the projection.
How is a daily gold SIP calculated?
With 365 instalments a year, each growing at the yearly return divided by 365. Weekly uses 52 and monthly uses 12.
Can the calculator show the grams of gold?
Yes, when you enter a price per gram. No live price is fetched; the grams follow from the price you type and the rate you assume.
Are fees, GST and making charges included?
No. The projection covers the regular instalments only. It does not model platform fees, spreads, GST, making charges, storage or tax.
Can I use a negative return?
No; losses are not modelled. The result already shows the same plan at 0%, where the value equals what you put in.
